What follows is a story of pure gluttony By Gregory Jacobs-Roseman (Composer-Lyricist)

I’m not quite sure what happened this year, but somehow the world aligned itself so that I was to attend a total of three Thanksgiving dinners this past weekend. That's right, THREE. Suffice to say, I never want to see another turkey again. Also, I feel the compulsive need to hit the gym every free moment of the day.
It all started on Thursday, Thanksgiving proper. I was attending my annual family’s thanksgiving at my uncle’s Upper West Side townhouse. We arrived at 3pm. Dinner wasn’t served till 7. Since it’s the Rosemans, the time in between was spent drinking.

Also, since it’s the Rosemans, we skipped the traditional turkey and went with the whimsical turducken.

By the time we did eat, I felt I had done my Thanksgiving duty.
My friend Akilah was hosting people for after-dinner drinks at her apartment, so that’s where we headed once dinner was over. Sadly, I have no photos of that event, though I’m told I was pretty toasted by that point in the evening, so maybe it’s for the best.
Friday night I took my parents and grandmother to see Follies on Broadway, which was a delight. We didn’t skip on the eating, however, as afterwards we had a late dinner at db Bistro, where I enjoyed Daniel Boulud’s signature foie gras-stuffed burger.
Arguably the funniest show cancelled before it’s prime is coming back!!! You’ve all heard the rumors and now here’s the truth... By Pam Quinn (Writer)
When Arrested Development was cancelled there was a loud cry heard from fans all over. “How is it possible that one of the best shows ever to be on television is cancelled after a mere three seasons?!?!” - Pam Quinn.
Then there was the Series Finale and the best, most hopeful words an A.D. fan could hear were uttered by the Executive Producer Ron Howard “No, I, uh... I don’t see it as a series. Maybe a movie.” Then we waited a really long time for THIS news:
George Sr., Lucille, G.O.B, Tobias, Michael, Lindsay, Buster, Maeby and George Michael are returning for 10 brand new episodes on Netflix before hitting the big screen as a feature film in 2013. Bluth-Funke Shenanigans... a mini season produced by Fox, Imagine entertainment and Ron Howard. “After a long hiatus, I’m dying to finally get back to the narrator’s microphone. ... ‘It’s Arrested ... Development,’ ” Howard said in the press release touting the Netflix agreement.
And now I give you my top 10 funniest G.O.B. moments on Arrested Development.
By Matthew Murphy (Photographer) A few weeks ago, Emery Lecrone--a former schoolmate of mine and a fantastic chorographer--presented an evening showcasing five up-and-coming dance makers aptly titled the Young Choreographer's Showcase. This was the second annual production and I was fortunate enough to photograph the proceedings.

Lisa - 37.5% Homer - 37.5% Abe - 14.3% MArge - 7.1% Bart - 7.1%
(I’m so proud of Lisa. And I’m interested to see Bart so far behind... Though Maggie... not one vote... guess it takes dialogue to make you a favorite.)
2. Who is your favorite Harry Shearer voiced character?
Burns- 35.7% Ned Flanders - 28/6% Principal Skinner - 14.3% Smithers - 7.1% Lenny - 7.1% Otto - 7.1%
(I thought Ned would be #1, I’m actually really surprised that Monty was everyone’s favorite)
3. Who is your favorite Hank Azaria voiced character?
Comic Book Guy - 42.9% Moe - 21.4% Apu - 14.3% Chief Wiggum - 7.1% Nick Riviera - 7.1% Kirk VanHouton - 7.1%
(I gotta say, I’m REALLY surprised at this.)
4. Who is your favorite voiced character by Dan Castallaneta
Homer Simpson - 50% Krusty the Clown - 21.4% Groundskeeper WIllie - 21.4% Abe Simpson - 7.1%
(Not that shocked here.)

Hank Azaria - 42.9% Harry Shearer - 21.4% Phil Hartman - 14.3% Yeardley Smith - 14.3% Dan Castallaneta - 7.1%
(This was the question I was most looking forward to finding out, and I’m happy to see it wasn’t a landslide in ANY direction.)
6. Do you think it’s time for The Simpsons to end?
NO - 71.4% YES - 28.6%
(Higher percentage on the “yes” than I expected. Interesting)
7. What do you think is the funniest show of the ones listed?
FAmily Guy - 42.9% The Simpsons - 28.6% South Park - 14.3% Futurama - 14.3%
(THESE Days, this is the order I’d put it in too. Even though I absolutely worshipped the Simpsons growing up. It’s just not what it used to be. 4th season through 7th - the best)
Never enough time to pack in all the movies, music, and decorations. By Melissa Presti (Book Publisher)
Step away from your Thanksgiving leftovers and button up your pants, it’s time to bust out your Christmas movies and albums! It was a balmy 65 degrees in Manhattan this weekend, but it was winter in my apartment. I blasted the air conditioner and cranked up the classic NSYNC Home for Christmas album of 1998 while I cut out snowflakes to hang from the ceiling (I’m kidding. That’s my activity for tomorrow’s craft hour at “work”). My favorite holiday season starts NOW.
I’m not a cult fan of A Christmas Story or Muppet shenanigans, and I'm already Elf-ed out before December 1st, so you might not agree with my list of favorites...
“We’re going to have the hap hap happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny fucking Kaye!” - quoted once by Chevy Chase, and 1,739 times by my Dad.
Christmas Vacation (1989) #1 movie of the season, if the quote didn't make that obvious. My family can recite every word which is disturbing yet gratifying. If you’re watching this for the first time, you shouldn’t watch with us.
White Christmas (1954) It wasn’t until I was older that I realized Bing Crosby is actually way hotter than Danny Kaye, and that long distance train rides suck (no one sits around in a club car singing about snow!) balls. But everything about this film is classic and cozy, and I will easily watch it 10x or more.
Little Women (1994) There is nothing better than my favorite book ever turned into a movie, and we’re dealing with Kirsten Dunst here. But she’s a tolerable 12yr old, and with Christian Bale, Claire Danes, Susan Sarandon, and a pre-shoplifting Winona Ryder, this is stellar casting for the ‘90s.
The Family Stone (2005) Another all-star ensemble (and Claire Danes again). It’s a bit dramatic and awkward and uncomfortable, which means it’s an accurate portrayal of an American family Christmas, especially when Sarah Jessica Parker trades in one brother for another pretty flawlessly. I mainly enjoy their huge, Pottery Barn-decorated New England home, because they’re actually a bunch of assholes hating on SJP the entire movie (spoiler alert).
The Holiday (2006) English cottage, snowy English countryside, English accents…all tempting reasons to peruse the housing swap offers on Craigslist. Totally possible that I will find my own Jude Law drunkenly knocking on my cottage door in a rural London suburb looking for love.
Bonus: 1978 Sesame Street Christmas Special...alI I ever wanted was to ice skate with Big Bird to Feliz Navidad.
How veganism ruined my day. By Brett (B.T.) Ryback (Actor-Writer)
My favorite dish in the entire world is Curry Chicken Salad from Whole Foods. Have you had this? It is no joke to say that my idea of heaven is an endless meal of Curry Chicken Salad from Whole Foods and you never get full.
I'm home in the bay area for Thanksgiving, and wouldn't you know it, I left my blog notes back in my apartment. In any case, I've been so back to back with family and friends, I don't really have time to squeeze in a full blog post. So today, I'm going to dedicate my post to the greatest city in the world, my city by the bay, San Francisco. MONKEY BUSINESS by Tony Asaro (Composer/Librettist/Bay Area Native)
