I've been listening to ESPN's 8th Annual Auction for The V Foundation.
For those unfamiliar with The V Foundation, this was a charity set up by the late, great basketball coach, Jim Valvano, dedicated to raising money for cancer research. To this date, The V Foundation has raised around $120 million for cancer research, according to Jim' brother, Bob Valvano.
If you're looking for a little inspiration, check out Jim Valvano's speech at the 1993 ESPYs, where he received the Arthur Ashe Award for courage. The speech was given just before he passed away from bone cancer. Jimmy V was a great coach, a great leader, and a much beloved man.
