Gena experiences yet another "I Love NY" moment... By Gena Oppenheim
Recently while picnicking in Prospect Park, I saw one of my former kiddos and her friends standing in front of a tree staring up. They
were transfixed. After some waving, she ran over to me. When I asked her what
was so fascinating she replied,
"Whitney Huston is singing to me." I smiled and nodded, thinking how much I loved that her imaginary friend was a pop diva, but soon she grabbed my hand and said "Come listen!"
Sure enough she dragged me to the tree, where her babysitter was sitting in a lawn chair looking upward as well. It was then that I saw a man dressed amazingly like Ms. Houston and fully belting out "I Wanna Dance With Someone" as a young woman on another branch filmed her! My wee friend then turned to me and said, "My mom said Whitney Houston went up to the sky, wait till she hears that she´s just up a tree in Brooklyn!"
