The most noticable trend this year are those damn scarlet trousers... I finally gave in and bought a pair.
by David Davila (playwright / songwriter)
I usually don't follow the trends of the day, but one trend that caught my eye and made me want to exlode with joy were these HOT PANTS that everyone is wearing around NYC...
Maybe they're wearing them everywhere? No idea if people in Wisconsin have started sporting these stylish leggings yet, but they're all over the streets here, and if David Davila is starting to wear them, that can only mean one thing.
THE TREND IS OVER
THESE PANTS ARE SOOOO FIVE MINUTES AGO
LAST SEASON
PLEASE CHANGE
UGHHH YOU NEED A STYLIST
So the fact that I've jumped on the red pants wagon is a sign that you should probably stop wearing your red pants. More evidence came the other night when I finally decided to wear them out to my friend's cabaret at the Laurie Beechman.
(Me, modeling my red pants for you)
I showed up thinking I was looking all cool in a white shirt and red pants only to find out that one of the singers in the cabaret was wearing the exact same thing.
Oh well.
You can't say I didn't try.
Next time I'll just stick to my Levi's.
And now some of my favorite Red Panted Celebrities:
(David Archuleta)
(The kid from GLEE aka Chris Colfer)
(Ed Westwick aka CHUCK BASS)
(Derek Hough... not sure what he's from but dang!)
(The ever so talented Ezra Miller from PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER)
(And my girl Solange!)
Right now as you read this, some fashion guru in the Dirty-Thirties, a foreign yuppy crashing in Astoria, or some carnival reject in Bushwick is thinking up the next big trend, and you can bet that it'll be a year or two at least until I catch wind and buy a pair.
Here's to hoping that you have more fashion sense than me.
