September 30th was the season premiere of Dexter. And it's lookin' real good.

For those of you who ahve been putting off Dexter... it's time to get on the band wagon. Just based on the 45 minute premiere episode I watched on Sunday, i can tell this season is going to be AWESOME!!!
Dexter got away from us a bit last season, in my humble opinion. The Colin Hanks season was more interesting in theory than in actuality. Vomiting religious paraphernalia onto us in hopes of creating a gasp worthy plot and casting the son of a living Hollywood legend in hopes of impressing us... it just didn't hit for me. There were some great moments in the last season, but nothing I would go to bed thinking about (Like the season of Kyle Butler.) The last moment of Season 6, Deb (Dexter's sister) walks in on him commiting one of the many murders he has comitted through out the years. Deb, who loves her job almost as much as she loves her adopted brother, now has a pretty big choice to make. And it looks like, by the trailer for the remainder of the season, that she's going to try and help him kick his addiction. (Unsuccessfully help.)
Deb is my favorite character on the show and I think Jennifer Carpenter should have won an Emmy for her performance in Season 4...
But I'm excited to see where she will go this season with this knowledge. Her job has always come first and this time... who knows. Every season someone knows who Dexter is, what he does and tries to help him carry it out. This season, it looks like he'll have two. One, the boyfriend of his babysitter who seems fascinated by the mind of a serial killer (playing the typical role of the antagonist who tries to turn our HERO into the throws of his "dark passenger") and Deb, who will be the first person with this knowledge that will actually try to help him. Help heal him.
I can't wait for next week's episode and I haven't really said that about DEXTER in a couple years.
