While we all have a bit of a dichotomy within us, Romney's reaches Jekyll and Hyde status
By Joanna Syiek (Director/Producer/Blogger)
Let's take a stroll down Romney soundbite lane, shall we? Starting off with one of the hot topics of this year's election.
"I will preserve and protect a woman's right to choose.”
"I am pro-life. I believe
that abortion is the wrong choice except
in cases of incest, rape, and to save
the life of the mother."
“I believe the world is getting warmer.
I believe that humans
contribute to that.”
“My view is we don’t know what’s causing
climate change on this planet.“
“We hired a lawn company to mow our lawn
and they had illegal
immigrants working there.”
“I don’t think I’ve ever hired an illegal in
my life.“
“I just signed a piece of legislation ending
the ban on certain
assault weapons.”
“I do not support any new legislation
of an assault
weapon ban nature.”
“I think there is need for economic stimulus.”
“I have never supported the President’s
recovery act
for the stimulus. No time, nowhere, no how.”
“As a result of our
discussions and other interactions with gay and lesbian voters
across the
state, I am more convinced than ever before that as we seek to
establish full
equality for America's gay and lesbian citizens,
I will provide more effective leadership than my opponent.”
"The actions that I take as
president depends on part on the state of play
in Washington, the people that
are there and what options exists -
but certainly I would defend the Defense of
Marriage Act which
the current president has refused to defend. I believe that
the
Defense of Marriage Act was well constructed
and should be
maintained."
Is anyone else literally terrified at the amount of BS he consistently offers us? Without cringing, without blinking. You know who else doesn’t need to worry about their eyes losing moisture? Robots.
No, but seriously. Ridiculous parallels aside, the fact that he is the top runner on the Republican side this year is a sign that certain Americans are longing hard for some idealized, nostalgic version of America that never truly existed. The 1950s were rife with problems too, friends. There’s no such thing as “the good old days.” We have to press on.
“This is not a dream my friend and it will never end. This one is the nightmare that goes on.” –J&H
Which man will win out? I have a scary premonition.
Use your power to vote wisely.

Oh, I should clarify. When I asked which man will win out, I was refering to which version of Romney is likely to trump the other version of himself. I have different thoughts about the results of the upcoming election. (hint: I'm with you Mary!)
