A Sea Star's Hokey Pokey/Mealtime may be enough perma-freak you out
By Joanna Syiek (Director/Producer/Blogger)
October means the beginning of the horror fests. The odd, the wild, the terrifying all come out to play as people conjure up new ways to excite and surprise. As a sommelier of the scare fests that accompany this month, I've found that they work best when they have a firm basis in truth. The scariest movie you've ever seen wasn't the one with the swampman, was it? It was the ones about that neighbor who was a little off, or that boy down the street who turns out to be a nightmare, or about some human-instigated mass hysteria: things that could, potentially, someday happen.
Similarly, I think nature is the best source material for a good ol' scare. Take this video of a Sea Star scrounging around for a meal. Makes you glad that you have a mouth and a digestive track...because let's just say you've never seen anything like it. Best part, this account is seen from the meal's point of view.
Buckle up, horrorenthusiasts. And enjoy some stranger-than-fiction-esque truth.

Amazing but also fodder for nightmares! Thanks for sharing a "natural" horror story!
