Southern California has had heatwave after heatwave. Now, we can finally experience something of what the rest of the country has been feeling...cool air.

Sorry to be so histrionic about weather, but we actually got rain this weekend. And it makes everything feel right about the world, even if it isn’t. So here's how Southern California looked this morning:
My backyard, right after the rain.
The soaked ground makes me think of all those puddles we disturbed as kids
Newly-washed leaves. If I was a leaf, I would be saying "aahhhhhhhh"
Real clouds. This is a treat for us in SoCal.
I have two piles of firewood on my side porch from last year's windstorm. Don’t think it will get used, seeing as it almost never gets cold here. Oh well.
