Today is my favorite day of the year: Half-Price Candy Day. Today the societal laws that govern how many candy bars you can buy at once without getting judgmental looks from everyone at Duane Reade fly out the window. But just buying the same candy every year gets boring after a while, so in honor of this most glorious day, here are the top five types of candy that you didn't realize you wanted to buy today.
5. Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs
Technically, it's just a Reese's peanut butter cup shaped like an egg, but something about the shape turns it from ordinary to extraordinary. These are only on sale from February to May and I will be buying all of them, so anyone else who wants any should try to get them today before I take over.
I will be slicing mine like this and making sandwiches.
4. Mint M&Ms
I hate dark chocolate. Or, I did. But then I met this beautiful creation that made me completely change my worldview (about dark chocolate.) They're so good that they actually made me try some other dark chocolate. I still hated it, but the point is that these are life-changing.
It helps that the packaging has the seductive M&M on it.
3. Buncha Crunch
Crunch bars but in little condensed, bite-sized bits. If you've never had these with popcorn, I insist that you immediately go buy buncha crunch and popcorn, combine them, and realize how much you regret having gone through life without that experience up until now.
You (I) don't even need an emotional movie for this to be a very emotional experience.
2. Hershey's Cookies 'n' Creme
This is one of the only types of candy I've ever found that actually tastes like the thing it's named after. Every bar of this tastes like a bowl of cookies 'n' creme ice cream condensed into rectangles.
I love it so much that my mouth actually started watering when I looked at this picture.
1. Snickers Peanut Butter Squares
I discovered these about a month ago and I never want to stop eating them. Snickers were already perfect, and the addition of peanut butter only served to turn this into a culinary experience worth of the Candy Gods.
Not pictured: my tears of joy.
If you know of any kinds of candy that go unappreciated, please let me know. I'm always in the market for a new candy experience.

And now, the Cher Tweet of the Week:
Cher celebrated Half-Price Candy Day early (and somewhat aggressively.)
JAYE HUNT celebrated Valentine's Day in a very similar fashion to how she celebrated Half-Price Candy Day.
