A preemptive farewell to the best/worst/??? TV show ever.
By Jaye Hunt
This week, it was announced that NBC has moved Smash to Saturday nights. So basically, this week it was announced that NBC has cancelled Smash. Supposedly, Smash will be allowed the rest of its 17 episodes this season, but I honestly doubt it will make it that far, due to its abysmal ratings.
A completely accurate and official graph of Smash's ratings this season.
This is really upsetting, because I actually think Smash has gotten better this year, and I say that as a big enough fan of the first season that I stuck around to the second season (based on the ratings, it would seem that those are few and far between.) It got snarky and a little self-referential (and by "it," I mean "everything Christian Borle says) and I find myself more often laughing with it than at it, which was definitely not the case last season.
So in honor of Smash's final stretch, I propose that every Tuesday until NBC gives us the final episode of Smash, which I assume will be sometime in 2015 and probably only aired online at nbc.biz/s/m/a/s/h, we wear black and have an hour of silence from 10-11 PM to remember what could have been, if only no one had ever cast Katharine McPhee.

And now, the Cher Tweet of the Week:
