Okay, full disclosure: my mom actually sent me this video, so I don't know if it made the rounds years ago and I'm just now catching up by way of middle-aged women's email chains, but it needs to be shared. The Chinese State Circus, as I understand it from my brief Google research, is a troupe that tours Europe with a show that combines martial arts, dance, and other performance skills (plate-spinning, aerial silks & whatever "lion dancing" is among them) with traditional Chinese acrobatics. This is their interpretation of Swan Lake- the emphasis is clearly not on perfect ballet technique or unison, but with the partners in the middle pulling off what they do, the girls on the side could be twerking to Tchaikovsky and I'd still give it a standing ovation. Wait until you get to 3:00!
